Samsung will launch Galaxy S IV at the CES 2013

Samsung has released a teaser which reveals the plans it has in store for the CES event. The word has it that Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy S IV at the Consumer Electronics Show which is going to be held next month. The teaser Samsung has released seems to highlight that they are planning something different for the CES event and rumour has it that it is going to be the Galaxy S IV.
Even though the Samsung Galaxy S3 that became a big hit was released hardly seven months ago, the rumour has it that the next big hit will come in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S IV which is a sequel of the Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S IV is rumoured to have a 5 inch display screen with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. The rumour also suggests that this next iteration of Galaxy S3 is going to provide a 2GB RAM and a rear camera of 13 megapixels.
If we are to believe these rumours surrounding the Galaxy S IV being released by the Samsung then there is a strong possibility that they will be releasing it at the Mobile World Congress or at a special event by Samsung in the coming year 2013. But, the recent release of the teaser by Samsung that is aiming at the CES 2013 event is pointing towards an altogether different possibility. The teaser seems to highlight that Samsung is having a big news which they will be showcasing in the event that is scheduled for the month of January 2013.
The MWC is an event that is known to have launches of anything that is mobile related associated to it but Samsung has not chosen this platform but the CES event to showcase the innovative product they are going to unveil. We are hoping that the product to be launched would be the Galaxy S IV and also that the Samsung does talk about the 8-core ARM processor that they have been developing. The Samsung had earlier given hints that they will be showcasing their new Exynos chip which is built on the ARM architecture in the year 2013. Currently we can just hope and wait for the best.

Xiaomi MI-3 4.5" screen coming in mid 2013?

Now this is as unofficial as it gets folks, so get those saltshakers ready. According to the latest bit of online gossip the next Xiaomi smartphone, presumably named MI-3, will sport the next-gen NVIDIA Tegra 4 chipset, LTE radio and an improved 4.5" screen and will launch in the middle of next year.
The Tegra 4 CPU will offer a quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU with clock speeds between 1.8 GHz and 2 GHz with around 2.5 GB worth of RAM.
The display on the alleged MI-3 is rumored to be a product of JDI (Japan Display Corporation) and should sport a higher ppi count (perhaps 1080p).
Finally, the camera have a 12 megapixel sensor.
All of this sounds really exciting and knowing the kind of competitive pricing Xiaomi normally does, we just hope the company brings the smartphone (if it's real of course) outside of its home market.

Apple wants ban on Samsung products, even more damages

As Apple files request for court order, Samsung complains that 'patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners
Apple is hoping to press its advantage against Samsung Electronics, asking for a court order on a wider U.S. ban on its products and an additional $707 million in damages after scoring a victory over the Korean giant last month.
For the additional request, Apple went back to the same San Jose, Calif., court that ruled last month that Samsung's products copied several key elements of the iPhone, Reuters reported. Samsung, for its part, is seeking a new trial, arguing that there were a number of instructional errors and decisions on evidence that require additional examination.

Apple scored a big victory when the San Jose jury ruled that Samsung had infringed on a number of its key patents and awarded Apple $1.05 billion in damages.
Following the victory, Apple sought to ban the products mentioned during the trial. The company is now seeking to extend that ban to any Samsung products that potentially infringe on its design patents, which could extend to Samsung's current flagship Galaxy S3.
The case in San Jose was just one of many ongoing trials in the world in a litigation battle that has gone on in multiple courts in multiple countries. Yesterday, a court in Germany ruled that Samsung didn't violate an Apple patent related to how the finger reacts to touch screens.
The latest legal developments come as Apple launched the iPhone 5 on Friday, garnering the usual lines and frenzy for the launch of a new Apple product. Sales estimates for the iPhone 5 on the first weekend alone have gone as high as 10 million. Apple and Samsung are in a tight battle for smartphone supremacy, with Samsung in the lead thanks to the sheer breadth of different phones it makes.
Samsung again warned that if left to stand, the ruling would hurt U.S. consumers and lead to less choice and higher prices down the line. It would also embolden Apple to take other competitors to court, the company said in a statement e-mailed to CNET.
"Indeed, it is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies." Samsung said.
Apple has said that it was seeking damages appropriate to Samsung's willful use of Apple patents in its products, which has caused harm to the iPhone maker.
Samsung has already said it would drag the iPhone 5 into the legal battle, indicating that there is no likely end to the squabble for a while.
